Gazing Up

Psalm 46:10 MSG When I am restless, you lull me to serenity When I am anxious, you affirm your love for me When I am mouthy, you hush me to my senses When I am moody, you throw pillows of joy my way to see my silly grin When I am a worrywart, you stop my aimless pacing with just one divine touch When I am begrudged, your disciplinary look keeps me at bay When I am lonely, your ember embrace keeps me warm and content When I am confused, you tenderly show me the way to go When I am indifferent, you tug my heart back to humanity When I am tired of longing for EVERYTHING else but you Heavenly Father, I gaze at you and EVERYTHING fades at the beauty of your presence. Fresh Start (Word of the Month)

pics-crocus

Happy New Month!

It is a brand new month and I can’t help but feel optimistic about February. Maybe I am a bit biased about February because it my birth month but still you can’t deny that February carries a special aura of love with a remembrance of historic events (Black History Month, Valentines Day) and an expectancy of new beginnings as the year officially takes full course.

My church COZA, has declared this month a month of Fresh Start taken from a beautiful Scripture in Hosea 14:5-7.

I will make a fresh start with Israel.
He’ll burst into bloom like a crocus in the spring.
He’ll put down deep oak tree roots,
he’ll become a forest of oaks!
He’ll become splendid—like a giant sequoia,
his fragrance like a grove of cedars!
Those who live near him will be blessed by him,
be blessed and prosper like golden grain.
Everyone will be talking about them,
spreading their fame as the vintage children of God.

I don’t regard it a coincidence that the Bible uses an exotic flower like the crocus to depict the blossoming life lived in total dependence on God. I did a little research and found out that the most expensive spice in the world, saffron,is derived from the stigmas of the crocus flower. It is sought for its versatile use in perfumery, culinary, coloring and medicine. So when God says that he is making a fresh start, He isn’t merely starting afresh, He is making things new and extraordinary. He is the God that specialises in revamping something ugly into something beautiful . The ultimate exchanger of beauty for ashes. The transformer of the obsolete to trend-setter.  The versatility of the crocus flower is what makes it valuable to whoever owns it and as the Scripture promises, those who are planted in God will become a source of blessing  exuding the grace they carry  extravagantly to everyone around them. They can’t help but be the talk of the town, exhibiting the graffiti of God’s goodness in their lives through the words of their testimonies, the evidence of his blessings, and their kindness.

The question of the hour is how can we get in on this exciting  journey with God? It is by returning back to Him as fast as we can. The first verse of Hosea 14 says  O Israel, come back! Return to your God! You’re down but you’re not out! Prepare your confession  and come back to GodPray to him, “Take away our sin,  accept our confession. Receive as restitution our repentant prayers”. Friends, i would like to encourage you that whatever mess you are in, it is not too late to return back to God and start afresh. As long as you are breathing, the grace of God is constantly available for you to obtain mercy from Him. Nothing should hold you back, instead your burdens should drive you to his precious feet. Kiss it, anoint it with your tears, pour out your heart and be embraced by Him. Surely He will accept you like He accepted the sinful woman(Luke 7:36-50). He is gracious like that because He is God not man. He has promised that nothing can separate us from his love, not trouble, not hard times, not hatred, not hunger, not homelessness, not bullying threats, not backstabbing, not even the worst sins listed in Scripture!(Romans 8:35). Remember that as long as we are in Christ,we are a new creation! The old has passed away and the new is here so we need to take that revelation and apply it to our lives every single day in order to be transformed daily to the glorious beings he has called us to be in the earth and beyond (2 Corinthians 5:17).

I pray that God shows himself true to who He is (The Renewer) in all areas of your life this month, be it physical, financial, relational or spiritual , In Jesus precious name, Amen!

Please read my post on It’s a new season for more insight to new beginnings with God.

Revelations 21:5 (AMP)

And He Who is seated on the throne said, See! I make all things new. Also He said, Record this, for these sayings are faithful (accurate, incorruptible, and trustworthy) and true (genuine).

Expect Love!

freedom

Jerimiah 31:3 MSG

God told them, “I’ve never quit loving you and never will. Expect love, love and more love!”

Being in love is a very wonderful and mysterious thing. Love adds the supernatural to our ordinary lives so much so that a mundane task like washing the dishes becomes a sought-after solitude time to sheepishly smile in memory of precious moments spent with that special someone, away from the prying eyes of family members. Bishop T.D Jakes said “There is no drug that can compare with the intense, passionate feelings that are aflame when the heart is in love”. Love is what drives a man to work tirelessly to provide for his lady, love is what makes a woman protect and fight for the dignity of her man even if it means losing friends. What I find amazing is that the fierce love that can exist between a man and his wife, the sacrificial love between a parent and a child, a loyal love between lifetime friends cannot be compared to the love that God has for us his children.  Romans 9:14 explains this fact perfectly when God told Moses, “I am in charge of mercy. I am in charge of compassion. Compassion doesn’t originate in our bleeding hearts or moral sweat, but in God’s mercy.

This is not to say that we should give up loving one another. NO! On the contrary, accepting God’s everlasting love allows us to love others better. The realization that the steadfast, undiluted, unfailing, and consistent love we seek from men comes only from God, gives us the capacity to allow room for growth and err with others.   With a start of a new year, most of us have our expectations for the year but can I encourage you to expect love from the One who is Love Himself? Can I remind you that it is his love that keeps us alive? that loads us with our daily necessities and holds us together? Psalm 103 majestically lists the manifestations of God’s love to us.

  • He forgives our sins- everyone
  • He heals our physical, mental and spiritual diseases
  • He redeems our lives from hell- including hell on earth (we don’t have to live under a continuous dark cloud).
  • He wraps us in his goodness, satisfies our mouth with good things.
  • He renews our strength- we can always draw strength in weary times through spending time with Him.
  • He is not easily angered, rich in love and mercy.
  • He is quick to forgive us and doesn’t endlessly nag, scold or hold grudges.
  • He makes everything right for us as we follow his ways.

I could go on and on about the love of God and still not mention everything. With the magnitude of his love He tells us to expect more and more with each day that comes. When it seems like God has outdone himself, he does something new that surpasses the last miracle while we still haven’t gotten over the euphoria of the former. I have made up my mind this year that no matter what happens, I will expect his love and mercy that is new every morning(Lamentations 3:23). No one can love like that and he made it that way so that we can depend on him to provide what no man can provide. God alone is able to touch the inner vulnerable part of our souls that no man can reach with words or actions no matter how affectionate. To accept this love all we have to do is accept his Son, Jesus Christ, the Messiah as our Lord and personal Savior. It is only through Him that we can experience salvational love. We have to allow him to work in our lives and trust him enough to let go of things we don’t understand knowing that his love will put ALL things together and make our lives whole.

Romans 10:10 MSG

It’s the word of faith that welcomes God to go to work and set things right for us. This is the core of our preaching. Say the welcoming word to God—“Jesus is my Master”—embracing, body and soul, God’s work of doing in us what he did in raising Jesus from the dead. That’s it. You’re not “doing” anything; you’re simply calling out to God, trusting him to do it for you. That’s salvation. With your whole being you embrace God setting things right, and then you say it, right out loud: “God has set everything right between him and me!”

Friends, I would like to encourage you envision your lives as a rubik’s cube and God as the ultimate solver. Once we give our lives to him with great expectation of his love, He works wonders that we could never imagine. With full concentration on us, He rolls his sleeves and get to work. With the sound of each click we see that the imagery of our lives getting better and brighter like the Just man in Proverbs 4:18. We find that everything fits neatly together for us and we are where we are supposed to be which is right at the center of God’s love with our arms open and outstretched, ready for the mercy of our Master, Jesus Christ. That is the unending life; the real life lived with the expectation of his tremendous love daily!(Jude 1:21).

Ephesians 2:7 MSG.

Now God has us where he wants us, with all the time in this world and the next to shower grace and kindness upon us in Christ Jesus.

Where is your Red Nose?

rudolph_the_red_nosed_reindeer

Happy New Month Halos!

Christmas is in the air , carols is in our ears, joy is in our hearts and smiles are getting wider at the second. I have started my search and collection of Christmas songs and i fell in love with Kim Walker’s version of ‘Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer’ which lead me to write this post.

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer
Has a very shiny nose
And if you ever saw it
You would even say it glows.
All of the other reindeers
Used to laugh and call him names
They never let poor Rudolph
Join in any reindeer games

In the Christmas Song, Rudolph was laughed at by the other reindeer for his shiny red nose.

In Genesis 37:3-4, Joseph was hated by his brothers because he was loved by his Father, Jacob. He was also falsely accused of seducing Potter’s wife and thrown into prison despite refusing her sexual advances in order not to sin against God.

His loyalty to his earthly father and God was his ‘Red-nose’.

In 1 Samuel 17:26 – 29, David was scolded by his older brother for showing interest in defeating Goliath.

His courageous heart was his ‘Red Nose’.

In Daniel 3, Daniel’s three friends( Shedrach, Michach and Abednego) were thrown into a burning furnace for refusing to worship the golden statue of King Nechabadnezzar.

Their faithfulness to God was their ‘Red Nose’.

These days sin is rapidly becoming the norm of the day while holiness is tagged “weird”. As followers of Christ, are we taking our stand for righteousness in the face of corruption? Are confidently preaching the truth in love regardless of  popular opinion? Or are we applying make up to our God given and loved “red noses” to be more accepted by the world?

Romans 12:2

Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you].

Then one foggy Christmas Eve,
Santa came to say,
Rudolph with your nose so bright,
Won’t you guide my sleigh tonight?

Then all the reindeers loved him,
And they all shouted out with glee,
Rudolph the red-nose Reindeer
You’ll go down in history!

Remember, just as Santa Claus exalted Rudolph for his unique Red-Nose, God will also exalt us for staying true to who we are as his children. As children of God we are called to be more like him and less of ourselves. This means that our actions will not be understood or be acceptable to some people but in the end, the result for our choices always speaks for us.

Our choice to remain generous speaks through God’s supernatural provision.

Our choice to honor our parents speaks through long life.

Our choice to remain faithful to our spouses speaks through an enviable healthy marriage.

Our choice to abstain from hard drugs, sexual promiscuity, & alcoholism  speaks through a healthy body and lifestyle.

In the end, all those who stuck out their ‘red noses’ in pride received tremendous blessings from God for their faithfulness. Joseph became a great ruler in Egypt and his brothers(the other reindeer) bowed before him and apologized for their wickedness. David became the great King of Israel and an ancestor of the our Lord  Savior, Jesus Christ. Daniel’s friends were saved from the burning furnace and promoted by King Nechabadnezzar.

Matthew 5:10-12.

Blessed happy enviably fortunate spiritually prosperous (in the state in which the born-again child of God enjoys and finds satisfaction in God’s favor and salvation, regardless of his outward conditions) are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake (for being and doing right), for theirs is the kingdom of heaven!

Blessed (happy, to be envied, and spiritually prosperous—with life-joy and satisfaction in God’s favor and salvation, regardless of your outward conditions) are you when people revile you and persecute you and say all kinds of evil things against you falsely on My account.

Be glad supremely joyful, for your reward in heaven is great (strong and intense), for in this same way people persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Good Morning Father!

download

I was reading my devotion plan this morning and came across a beautiful Scripture that stirred up my spirit to write this post.

Psalm 5:1-3, 7-8 MSG

Listen, God! Please pay attention! Can you make sense of these ramblings, my groans and cries? King – God, i need your help. Every morning you’ll hear me at it again. Every morning i lay out the pieces of my life on your alter and watch for fire to descend.

7-8. And here I am, your invited guest— it’s incredible! I enter your house; here I am, prostrate in your inner sanctum, Waiting for directions to get me safely through enemy lines.

There is something beautiful about waking up in the morning to pray to the Almighty God. It is proof that we are totally depending on him to survive for the day. It shows that we believe without God’s help we are nothing. The fact that we woke up from our sleep is the Lord’s doing. It is a miracle on its own! Some people go to sleep with plans for the next day but they never get to see the Sun again. Think about it! The reason you woke up today is that God has a plan for your life TODAY, which is why it is very important that we spend them with him in the morning to figure out what those plans are.

When Jesus was on earth, He made a practice of rising up early to pray. I believe that his prayers was what gave him strength to perform miracles and preach to the people. I also believe that through prayers he got instructions and guidance from God the Father on what to do for the day. Jesus said in John 5:19 AMP ‘I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, the Son is able to do nothing of Himself (of His own accord); but He is able to do only what He sees the Father doing, for whatever the Father does is what the Son does in the same way [in His turn].’ In Mark 1:35-39 AMP, we see a perfect example of how Jesus depended on God the Father.

35 And in the morning, long before daylight, He got up and went out to a deserted place, and there He prayed.36 And Simon [Peter] and those who were with him followed Him pursuing Him eagerly and hunting Him out],37 And they found Him and said to Him, Everybody is looking for You.38 And He said to them, Let us be going on into the neighboring country towns, that I may preach there also; for that is why I came out.39 [So] He went throughout the whole of Galilee, preaching in their synagogues and driving out demons.

After his morning prayers, He immediately knew what the itinerary of the day was going to be. He informed his disciples that they were going  around Galilee to preach and the most important thing to note is that he went around driving demons from people which he couldn’t have done without his habit of praying regularly (Mark 9:29).

I came across this beautiful quote about Prayer and it says “Prayer is the vital breath of Christians;not the thing that makes us alive, but the evidence that we are alive.”  We should view morning prayers as a thanksgiving to God for being alive! Once we start thinking that way, it will become easier for us to naturally seek HIS presence in the morning.

Simple Steps to take to spend time with God in the Morning.

  • Go to bed early so that you can get a good night rest.
  • Set your alarm an hour before you usually wake up to start your day.(The length of time spent in prayer could vary, you can start with 30 minutes and grow to an 1 hour or more with time and consistency)
  • Make it a habit to say something to God immediately you open your eyes. You could say “Thank you Father or Good Morning Jesus”.
  • Quickly freshen up by splashing water on your face or brushing your teeth. This will help to keep you awake.
  • Start your Prayers with songs of worship and praise. I usually play worship songs from my Ipad and sing along with it.
  • If you are using your phone/Ipad to read the bible or play worship songs, make sure you switch it to airplane mode to avoid distractions.
  • Always start your prayers in thanksgiving and worship to God. If you don’t know what to say then pray in the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:26).
  • After prayers, listen to hear God speak to you through his Word. He could put scriptures in your mind during prayers and so its important to read the Bible immediately after prayers to get instructions and encouragement for the day.(I got James 1:7 and the inspiration to write this post today!).

So Dear friends, i encourage you to place your lives before the Lord early in the morning before you do anything. Seek his provision, protection and wisdom because it pleases him when we do so. He is a re-warder of those who seek him(Hebrews 11:6). Place all your desires and plans for the day before him and he will definitely bless each and every one of them (Proverbs 16:3)

Romans 12:1-2 MSG

1-2 So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.

Happiness is a choice. Choose to stay hopeful and optimistic about life. Don’t stop Believing!

Romans 15:13 AMP

May the God of your hope so fill you with all joy and peace in believing [through the experience of your faith] that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound and be overflowing (bubbling over) with hope.

Being kind is Classy

download

I saw this picture quote on Instagram and instantly fell in love with the beautiful message it portrayed. The picture is currently the wall paper on my phone and it is a keen reminder to be nice to everyone i meet. The picture got me thinking, BEING KIND IS CLASSY BECAUSE GOD IS KIND.

The dictionary defines ‘classy’ as someone or something of high class, rank,or grade, stylish, admirably smart,  and elegant. The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines it as ‘having or reflecting high standards of behavior’. I see the classiness of the Most High God in the way He elegantly created the sky and flung the stars in it to shine at night. I see his stylishness in the way He distinctively made every flower beautiful in its own way with a play of colors, scents and textures. I am fascinated at his wisdom in the way He created the human brain to control eating, sleeping, laughing, crying, thinking, and all other activities we do as living beings. Most of all, i am awe-struck when i think about his high standards of behavior, how classy He is to overlook our shortcomings and stay kind to us.

Luke 6:35-36

“I tell you, love your enemies. Help and give without expecting a return. You’ll never—I promise—regret it. Live out this God-created identity the way our Father lives toward us, generously and graciously, even when we’re at our worst. Our Father is kind; you be kind.”

Being classy is the ability to rise above unpleasant situations and react with grace. Being classy is showing kindness in the face of cruelty, politeness in the face of rudeness and humility in the face of pride.  I see how classy Jesus Christ is when he healed one of the guards who came to arrest him at the garden of Gethsemane after Simon Peter struck him with a sword(Luke 22:50 -51, Matthew 26:51-54). His act of kindness is a classy example of how we are called to repay evil with good. Jesus Christ had the authority to summon angels to fight for him but he chose to be compassionate in order to fulfill the will of the Father for him to die so that we can be free from sin and empowered(by the Holy Spirit)to be kind just as He is kind. The Message translation of Romans 2:4 says In kindness he takes us firmly by the hand and leads us into radical life – change.

With a lot of beautiful examples in the Bible of the Kindness of God, I look to him daily as my perfect role model as i choose to stay classy just as He is!

Ephesians 4:32

And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.

Word of the Month: Psalm126

DREAM

Happy New Month!

It is such a blessing to be alive and to witness a new month unfold before our eyes each day. Each day brings its own special gifts from God to us just as each month brings its purposed miracles to us. I am excited to share on the Word of the Month declared by my church, COZA.

Psalm 126: 1-6

1-3 It seemed like a dream, too good to be true,
    when God returned Zion’s exiles.
We laughed, we sang,
we couldn’t believe our good fortune.
We were the talk of the nations—
    God was wonderful to them!”
God was wonderful to us;
    we are one happy people.

4-6 And now, God, do it again—
bring rains to our drought-stricken lives
So those who planted their crops in despair
will shout hurrahs at the harvest,
So those who went off with heavy hearts
will come home laughing, with armloads of blessing.

When was the last time you saw your dreams come true right before your eyes? when was the last time you experienced a moment filled with so much happiness that you had to pinch yourself to confirm that you weren’t dreaming? For me, those moments happened in 2012 when I first heard about my result in my Bachelors Degree and my graduation ceremony. I was so happy that God crowned my efforts with tremendous success and I was blessed to see my father’s proud face. I still thank God up to this day for all my achievements and giving me precious moments to cherish  in 2012 AND I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO MORE UNBELIEVABLE, HEART CRUSHING ECSTATIC  MOMENTS IN LIFE! If He did it before, He can certainly do it again!

Friends, I can’t get tired of saying that we serve a Good God that is desperate to bless us. In Psalm 33:19,we see that God has piled a stack of blessing for those who worship him and run to him for safety. I am so expectant  to receive his parcel of blessing  that he has stored up for me this month and I encourage you to be expectant as well. Hope in him with confidence that your expectations will not be cut off (Proverbs 23:18). Stay wide awake in pray and experience his wonder in your life this month (IPeter 4:7). Wake up with an expectation of something beautiful  coming your way each day and when you feel like giving up, ponder on how God was faithful in the past and your hope will be revived (Psalm77: 11-12).

I pray that by the end of this Month, you will look back and reminisce about God’s goodness in your Life. I pray that you will so awe-struck at his Faithfulnes that you will pinch yourself in wonder and ask “Am i dreaming?” Amen!

Psalm 33:22 – Let Your mercy and loving-kindness, O Lord, be upon us, in proportion to our waiting and hoping for You.

Chasing Nightmares Away

sweet_dreams_darling_by_sonicdaydream-d5nse07

I recently experienced a dream so horrible that i woke up with tears running down my eyes.  Feeling like a lioness that was disturbed from her peaceful sleep, started my morning devotion roaring God’s word back at the Devil, declaring out loud that i didn’t believe the lies he was trying to sell to me in the dream.  I told him that i was not only going to defeat him but disgrace him by sharing how i defeated him on my blog  so here i am fulfilling my promise.

It might sound crazy and spooky to you but the truth is that we have an enemy and that is Satan. He may not be the cause of your bad dreams, watching horror movies before sleeping could be the cause. However when fear starts breeding in your mind and you find yourself dreading sleep or too afraid to sleep alone in the dark then know that he has set a trap for you.  He is always looking for ways to bring fear and calamity to our lives which is why we must be careful not to give him a chance to sneak in. 1 Peter 5:8 says “Be alert, be on watch! Your enemy, the Devil, roams around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.” But the good news is that there is nothing to fear as a child of God because he has provided us with weapons to fight and defeat him (Read Ephesians 6:11-18). He may roar but he flees once we boldly declare God’s word back to him just as Jesus did when he was led by the Spirit to the wilderness Luke 4:1-13.   This is why the first response to Nightmares is Prayer!

PRAY !

Wake up from a nightmare with a prayer in your mouth. Before you even get out of bed and while you are trembling with fear,  open your mouth and say something like “I reject every negative effect of this dream in the Mighty name of Jesus”. Say  it repeatedly until you are strong enough to get down on your knees and pray. Try not to go into rationalization mode when you wake up from a nightmare because it will only breed fear and discourage you from praying boldly. Even when you are too frightened or confused to pray at that moment,  open your Bible and start reading scriptures on God’s protection. It is good to have particular scriptures to go to whenever you are afraid. For me, it is Psalm 91 and Psalm 27.  If you are lucky enough to have family or friends around then ask them to pray with you( Matthew 18:19-20).

BE MINDFUL OF WHAT YOU WATCH

Like i said earlier, we are sometimes the cause of our nightmares. Watching horror movies or witnessing  bad experiences or terrorizing sights in real life( accidents, bloody scenes, mortuaries, grotesque looking objects & art,  masquerade shows, etc ) could trigger bad dreams so try as much as possible to avoid them.

Psalm 101: 3a – I will set nothing wicked before my eyes

psalm 119: 27 – Turn away my eyes from looking at worthless things and revive me in your way.

Romans 12: 9b – Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.

CALM YOUR MIND AND MEDITATE ON GOD’S WORD AT BEDTIME

Whether you are dealing with family/work/finance related stress or you are dealing with Post Traumatic  Stress Disorder (PTSD) due to the loss of a loved one, illness, suffering/witnessing of an assault/accident, you can be rest assured that  you have a kind God who enjoys giving rest to those he loves( Psalm 127:3 MSG) if we only come to him.  Develop a habit of spending your bedtime with God. It could be sipping a cup of tea(Chamomile or Lavender tea are great choices to aid sleep) while reading the bible, it could be listening to gospel music while taking a bath( Kim Burrell’s jazzy smooth voice does the trick for me), whatever it is, just make sure you are spending time with God before you go to bed. There are also many evening devotional books that you can read to enable you meditate on God’s word before you sleep. I recommend Ending your Day Right by Joyce Meyer because it is written to help the reader reflect on the day’s activities and have a quality time in the presence of God. I am currently reading it as a devotional plan on YouVersion (a bible App) and i have to say you can never go wrong with a Joyce Meyer Book!

Psalm 63: 6-8 – As i lie in bed, i remember you: all night long i think of you, because you have been my help. In the shadow of your wings i sing for joy. I cling to you and your hand keeps me safe.

Ecclesiastes 5:7 – No matter how much you dream, how much useless work you do, or how much you talk, you must still stand in awe of God.

Psalm 104:34 – My medication of Him shall be sweet. I will be glad in the Lord

FORGET THE PREVIOUS HORRIBLE DREAMS

Now that you have committed your bedtime to God’s hands, try not to dwell on the previous nightmares. Don’t spend your time thinking about it or narrating it to people. Believe that God has delivered you from experiencing further nightmares and move on. Focus your mind on the goodness of God. Sometimes I imagine the angels of God surrounding the four corners of my bed and that helps to make me feel safe and secured. Know that God has given us peace so there is absolutely nothing to fear.

Philippians 4:8 – Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Psalm 4:8 I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for Thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety.

John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
